Today, many environmental laws in Europe are stipulated by the European Commission and subsequently have to be transposed into national law by the governments of the Member States.

Some such examples are:

• End-of-Life Vehicles Directive
• Packaging Directive
• WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)

Most PARTSLIFE system partners are international companies and are affected by the laws existing in several markets.

PARTSLIFE has the task of offering services - such as fulfilment of the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive, fulfilment of the Packaging Directive or fulfilment of the WEEE Directive - for its system partners in several EU countries.

In this conjunction, a Letter of Intent was already signed with Sernauto, the Spanish automotive parts association, in 2004. In addition, PARTSLIFE is currently in the process of establishing a system in Austria and is holding initial exploratory talks in Poland and the UK.
